Sheek Island, Canada
Sheek Island (sometimes Sheik's Island) was rented from the Mowhawks by David Sheek in 1806. Just across the Cornwall Canal from the town of Moulinette, the island was home to about 50 farmhouses and cottages when it was inundated in 1958.
