Hòa Bình Dam - Displaced People

Hòa Bình Dam displaced almost 90,000 people, many of whom belonged to the Muong, Tay, Dao, Thai Trang, Thai Den, and Khinh ethnic groups. The dam's construction also caused many ecological problems and led to a loss of cultural identity in the region. (Pictured: a resettlement area in Hòa Bình Province. Photo credit: vietnamnews.vn.)
