Hollow Water First Nation, Canada
The Hollow Water First Nation (Ojibwe: Waanibiigaaw) was severely affected by the Lake Winnipeg Regulation and the Churchill River Diversion. The Nation lost access to much of its fishing grounds due to debris; the shoreline was badly eroded, which caused a decline in the muskrat population and felled trees; and the wild rice industry was all but destroyed.
