Additional People Displaced by Angostura Dam (Belisario Domínguez Dam), Mexico
Residents of sixteen different communities--including many Indigenous farmers--were relocated in the 1970s to make way for Angostura Dam. The dam also submerged numerous archeological sites. This photograph shows two views of a figure that was excavated at the Santa Rosa site prior to inundation.
