Suaqui, Mexico
Women in Suaqui, 1936. Suaqui was one of three communities submerged by Plutarco Elías Calles Dam--which displaced 3000 people in total--in the late 1950s and early 1960s. While Suaqui was relocated to the outskirts of Hermosillo, Sonora's capital city, the rebuilt town was displaced by yet another dam in the 1990s.
