Äshèyi (Aishihik), Canada

Äshèyi was home to Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN) people before being displaced to Haines Junction in the 1960s. Though there may have been other factors, the Aishihik Dam seems to have caused at least some of the desplacements. Today, the town has few year-round residents, though it is still used for traditional purposes. (Photo credit: S.G. French.)
