Displaced by E.B. Campbell Dam

Displaced by E.B. Campbell Dam

In 1962, a small number of farmers were displaced by the E.B. Campbell Dam in the unincorporated communities of Petaigan, Garrick, Beaver House, Ravine Bank, and Mossy Vale. An Anglican church and a schoolhouse were also inundated. In addition to the upstream displacements, the dam devastated the downstream fishing and trapping opportunities for the Cumberland House Cree Nation. (Pictured: Mossy Vale students. Photo credit: B.
