Nemiscau (Old Nemaska), Canada

The Cree Nation of Nemaska was forced to relocate from Nemiscau (or Old Nemaska) in the 1970s due to Hydro-Québec's proposed Nottaway-Broadback-Rupert Complex. The project was never realized, but the Cree of Old Nemaska had already been displaced and were split into two separate communities. They have never been compensated for this forced relocation.
