Displaced by Kossou Dam
About 75,000 people were displace by Kossou Dam between 1969 and 1973. The displaced were mostly Baoulé farmers. The reservoir submerged nearly 50,000 acres of coffee and cocoa plantations, which locals blame for the loss of wealth in the region in the decades since impoundment.
