Displaced By Koto Panjang Dam
The Koto Panjang Dam displaced between 17,000 and 23,000 people from multiple villages. Some of the displaced people have recently sued the Japanese government over its role in the construction of the dam and the resettlement plan. Recently, the reservoir has been opened to fish farming (pictured), which has boosted the local economy.
