Displaced by the Upper Krishna Project
The Upper Krishna Project includes the Basava Sagar Dam and the Almatti Dam. Upwards of 300,000 people from nearly two hundred villages were resettled due to the Krishna River's impoundment. The reservoirs now make a new habitat for migratory birds.
