Ghazi, Pakistan
The village of Ghazi was split in half by the Ghazi-Barotha canal when construction began in 1995. Though the project has been praised as having a positive impact on local residents, almost 1000 people were displaced by the canal. The run-of-the-river dam did bring electricity to 23 villages in the area.
