Monument City, Indiana
The small community of Monument City was one of three displaced by Salamonie Dam, built by the US Army Corps of Engineers as part of an effort to control flooding along the Wabash River and its tributaries. While some houses were moved to other locations, many were bulldozed in advance of inundation.
