Neversink, New York
Before it was seized through eminent domain, Neversink was a popular Catskills resort town. Poultry and dairy farms also dotted the area, many of which were run by Jewish farmers. The town was rebuilt nearby after Neversink Dam--which displaced 342 residents between Neversink and the nearby hamlet of Bittersweet--submerged the original site.
