Couchville, Tennessee

Part of Couchville's main thoroughfare is said to still sit under Percy Priest Lake, which submerged the town in 1967. This photograph shows a member of the US Army's 326th Division Engineer Battalion unrolling detonator wire. He was part of the crew that demolished Couchville Pike Bridge in advance of inundation.
