Boardman, Oregon
Boardman Train Depot in 1954. Oregon superintendent of state parks Samuel Boardman homesteaded and planted trees in the area in 1903, twelve years before the first long-term settler, C.G. Blayden, arrived. Boardman was platted in 1916 and incorporated in 1921. The town relocated twice: in 1952, when it was in the path of the under-construction Highway 30, and in 1965, before John Day Dam inundated the second townsite.
