After withdrawing his candidacy, E.P. Dodd endorsed the progressive Republican candidate, Joe. E. Dunne, in the 1934 Oregon gubernatorial election. Dodd used his endorsement as a soapbox to continue his advocacy for dam development of the Columbia River.
